Miva Modules

Miva Modules is a common term used for add-on software, aka plug-ins or modules, for the Miva Merchant shopping cart. A number of modules ship with Miva Merchant, including modules for calculating shipping rates (FedEx, UPS, and USPS), for integrating with payment gateways (Authorize.net, Payflow Pro, etc) to collect credit cards, for sales tax collection, and more.

The beauty of Miva Merchant is that it is completely customizable through add-on modules. A number of developers create and sell modules for features like order status, SEO, coupons, gift certificates, and more. You can also create custom modules for your store if you have a programming background and are willing to learn the Miva Merchant API and the Miva Script coding language.

Although we love MivaCentral as a distribution point for our modules, we also want to suggest that developers and store owners look to individual Miva module developers' websites, whenever possible, to purchase modules. This is because the developer loses a large percentage of sales to Miva Merchant through MivaCentral sales. It's better to reward the hard work by giving 100% of the revenue to the developers, if possible, and it also helps them have the resources to develop additional features for Miva Merchant.
