Navigation tools has to appear straightforward so that customers can find the products that interest them quickly and easily. Navigation that are set up to be "disappearing" or "jumping" is really confusing.

Weirdly, I never used Amazon's navigation. I only use their search.

Interestingly, our website Leisurepro.com currently displays all our categories on left navigation (like 80+). And we receive constant praise of how easy its to find products. Our site search is like 10%

Really Amamzon is top in online shopping sites. categorization is awesome on it. Very easy there to choose the product in any category. This is a really excellent read for me. Must admit that you are one of the best bloggers I ever saw. Thanks for posting this useful article.

The categories on the Amazon website are great but in some cases they are just too many and this adds to the complexities of finding the right types of products or searching the database to find the items you are after.

You definitely have to take the time to properly think out your site's navigation structure regardless of the site's size. Not only does it affect how easy your site is to use, but it also affects how your pages are helping each other in the search engine rankings. Search engines do consider internal links in their algorithms too.
